54-559 vs 55-559 tire size, fits?

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on my problem.. My mountain bike has 26" 54-559 schwalbe nobby nic tires.. I purchased some 26" 55-559 schwalbe big apple's for it, mixing up the 55 and 54.. Some people are telling me it will fit, however when i tried, perhaps with not enough attempts, it seemed to be too big..

Could this be? Or should this fit for sure..

559 is the diameter and 54 - 55 is the width, so it should fit.

It will certainly fit. The 1mm difference in width will not be noticeable.
