Need a bike to go electric on.

I posted over in the E bike forum with no reply??? I am old and sick, thus the need for electric. I've ordered a Bafang 750 mid-drive (needs crank housing 68mm wide) and battery already but no bike yet. I'm thinking Mountain bike for durability because of the extra weight and power of the motor/battery, plus I just like the look. Don't need anything fancy as it will be mostly street and bike trials with maybe a little beach. Looking at Trek 3400 disc and Specialized hardrock disc 26 but neither have the componets I think I need/want. (good-best mechanical disc brakes/quality rear derailer/11-34 rear sprocket). Are these frames really better than "box store" type. If I'm gonna have to switch out stuff anyway, why not start cheap and/or used? Thanks
