bought a carrera kraken a while back and atm i have speedking 2.3 tyres on it and it just sticks to much and makes it so hard to pedal onroad

looking maybe if it be possible to change tyres to road ones and if yes which ones are best on a med budget

or will i have to change the whole wheels

Just swap out tires and tubes. I wouldn't go too skinny unless you really know you want roadie type tires. 26x1.5" panaracer Ribmos, perhaps. Sometimes I see michelin country rock on sale for $13 and grab a couple. Not as fast as Ribmos but better for occasional dirt road jaunt.

You may find Panaracer tires hard to find in the UK, much easier to find are brands like Schwalbe, Continental & Michelin. For MTB slicks, something like a Schwalbe Kojak would work CRC has them at £16.99 each.

That's a good deal on the Kojak though.

Looks like Crc has Country Rock too, if a little tread is desired.

ok thanks a lot i just fitted pair of Kojaks gonna go for a ride see how thay perform plus friend gave me a set of trekking bars so i think all set now

Kojaks are nice and wide and actually very light for some fast road riding and virtually silent for road use. I have them on my folding bikes. But for my Mtn bike i used these:

Fat Frank HS 375 | Schwalbe North America

2.35" wide and in brown, they look oh so nice too! lock up your shocks and ride them around 35psi and they seemed to float over alot of manhole covers with you barely feeling anything.

I did a 153km one day tour on them to another town and they just felt great on the rolling resistance.

I used them in a indoor bike park also and aired them out to 25psi and i was able to float over these fist sized rock garden obstacles with ease. just whatever you do don't get the creme colour because they get dirty fast and it will show and look ugly.

But since it looks like you already bought the kojaks try them out for a bit then just watch out on gravel trails because when i had my kojaks on the other bike taking turns while going anywhere around 25km/h and you will probably slide out. You'll have to use alot care and make wide turns if you are going at speed on gravel.
