why stop for tri spoke on mt bikes
Why Did they stop making tri spoke and Spin energy rims for Mt bikes
I know it was all cosmetic and served no aero purpose on mt bike, but did look cool at time.
Be interested to know the pros and cons of those old rims

Don't know if it is true or not, but I've HEARD the hubs break loose, and the spokes cracked.
It MIGHT be that they just did not sell enough of them. I know they were not inexpensive wheels.

It just seems like a bad idea to me, mtb wheels take a lot of abuse, tri spokes have a breaking point. And aerodynamics are not nearly as large a factor to mountain biking. Ive seen old deep dish HED mtb wheels as well. Cool but ineffective.
