Please help me decide which bike to sell

Well in a twist on the usual "which bike should I buy: a or b," I have the "which bike should I sell" dilemma! My boyfriend laid down the terms: One of my mountain bikes has to go. I'm really, really awful at getting rid of any of my bikes. I get attached/sentimental and find all these reasons for why I should keep both. My riding buddies are split on the matter and one suggested posting here. (I'm too embarrassed to post this under my real username though.) I'm 5'5" with a 29.5 inseam.

    The bikes in question are:

2009 Salsa mamasita (rasta colors, scandium frame w/rear carbon stays)

2011 Niner Air9 (Jet Grey, Scandium frame)

Both are size small, although the Salsa is definitely larger. Same setup for both with a shorter stem and straight post on the Salsa. I like them both a lot! I had planned on converting one to a single speed to try out last winter, but some bike projects always seem to get shuffled back. I know this is a good problem to have as I'll still be left with an awesome bike, but I just need someone to kick my indecisive butt into gear!

Thanks for indulging me! I appreciate it!

How about renting a small (5X10) storage unit to store one if space is a problem. An outdoor unit (not climate controlled) will be fine. I don't think having two bikes is outrageous or one too many.
When I was single, my GF said when we get married I'd have to sell the Corvette. Instead I sold the diamond I bought her..... really! Just sayin'

I'm not too excited about a partner who lays down terms like that either. It's different if the two of them work something out.

In all seriousness though, why does he say a bike needs to go? Also, are they both hardtails or both softails? If you have one of each, then it is obvious to need to keep them both. Actually, best yet, tell him to buy a mountain bike too and he can understand the need for more than 1.
If one must go, is there a friend who is looking for a long term loan? If it is simply a space thing, why not just dismantle one of them and stash the parts in a box and the frame well, almost anywhere.

Buy another bike, and loose the boyfriend.
