Right size inner tube for my tyre?
Hi all,
just put a new Schwalbe Active Line 26"x2.001 tyre on my X-Plorer Weinmann rim. The only inner tube that I have and was using with my old hybrid tyre is a Chinese made one( not sure about brand) but the size is 26"x 1 1/4 - 1 3/8. My question is- is this inner tube too small for the tyre, as to me it looked small, but when inflated it looks almost allright I think. Also, is this rim designed for hybrid tyres only, or can take the width of any MTB tyre?

You can get away with running the wrong size innertubes far easier then you can a wrong size tire, get the correct size if possible, but if it fits and works, then it works.
For the rim, rims don't care about the type of tire fitted (unless your looking at UST tubeless or tubs).
When fitting regular tires on crochet/hook edge rims the only things that matter are the ERD i.e 26"/559 which needs to match, and the width, which has quite a lot of leeway. If your wheel originally had a hybrid tire, a 2.1 should fit fine; a quick Google search indicates your X-Plorer rim can take from a 1.5" to 2.2" tire.
