New Bike
Hello. I purrchased a Supercycle Fringe from Canadian Tire on Saturday. I was wondering, is it recommended to get a tune up on a new bike? The gears dont seem to work well, and the front bake makes a rubibng noise.
Thanks
Chris

What you are describing sounds exactly like this. It's unfortunate that for a new bike you'll be forced to pay to get it tuned up. May I ask what you paid for the bike? Perhaps you can see if you can order an entry bike from a Local Bike Shop (LBS). Take the time to find one and go talk to them.
I recommend you read this thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/mountain-biking/97066-what-s-up-new-guy-here-basic-question.html because it was someone much like yourself who bought a bike from Wal-Mart and was convinced to return it.
Where in Canada you located?

Hi. Iam from Regina, SK. I just spoke with Canadian Tire, and they told me to go down to a local bike shop to get it fixed. I just need to take by bill and they will fix it for free.

Canadian Tire is our version of Target. Supercycle is a low-end department-store brand. Their bikes work but you can't go extreme with them. I think they're created by Canadian Tire.

sounds doubtful to me.
the good news is that Canadian Tire bikes are returnable if you don't like it.
(From my experience anyways)
support a bike shop! not Canadian Tire.

The regular price on this bike is 499.99 CAD.
It’s now on sale and I was considering getting one.
I was wondering if anyone has actually reviewed this bike or if it’s the supercycle name that’s causing it to be looked down on. Personally I am not a fan of supercycle but it looks ok to me, having said that I am no bike expert.
