Knocking sound !!HELP!!
i've recently converted my bike to single speed, and have noticed a knocking/clicking sound near my cranks, my intitial thought was that it was my square taper bottom bracket, and then i thought my pedals, as i have no spare pedals i can't find out which one it is. If it is my bottom bracket, how much would it cost for a new one (a pretty strong square taper) and to have it fitted in the UK £

Hmm... Possibly £30-£40 Plus Fitting? Why dont you have a go yourself you have to buy tool which are probably £20, but is a good experience, removing cranks and bb and you'll save moeny nextr time you need to do it.

if they are cottered cranks, you may need new pins, but I hightly highly doubt they are. other than that I would guess it would be your cranks too. you could try spinning your pedals and just spinning your cranks without spinning your pedals to really try to see which it is. but bb's are pretty easy to put in with the right tools.
