Busted hard tonight!!

Well the right knee is scrapped real bad, the right elbow is cut pretty bad, and my left thumb i am not sure about that yet it is pretty tender but i can still move it and there is no color change so i dont think it is broke!!

I was going down about a 30 foot hill with about a 45 degree angle adn i hit a rut in the sand and low sided and rolled the rest of the way down i hit my head real hard but i had a helmet on so it was cool but i saw stars and stuff!! Well on with the fun i guess!!

My strategy for streams is to hit it hard and hope for the best. I usually sprint towards them if possible.

sounds like it hurts. i was going through this technical section last year and the end of the hill was like 15 feet away. I have done this section plenty of times but this time my wheel got wedged in between these 2 rocks and i went head over heels and hit my knee elbow and then landed in a bigmud puddle, it sucked really bad. i was bleeding and stuff

Kinetic energy is the key to mountain biking, well, actually the key is maintaining kinetic energy. When done properly this is what people describe as "flow" or "being in the groove". Single speeders try to capture this energy much more than, say, your average geared rider and tend to (definately not always) ride with more flow. What this means to the lamen is that you keep momentum and only use the brakes if necessary, and sprint when you can.

Sounds like you banged yourself up pretty hard.
My Hardrock's pedals cut into the back of my leg, behind the knee, very painfull, about an inch long and surprisingly deep, I'm wondering if I did any serious damage to a muscle/anything else. When I stretch my leg out it hurts a lot, but if I keep it relaxed it's more or less OK. I disinfected it and then just let it heal, by today morning the wound had closed and is now (hopefully) healing.

I had my cousin look at it who is a emt and he said that even if i did hair line fracture it all they could do is plastic splint and tape so i think i will be good also found out that i got a sore right calf muscle also from the fall but all is good and i am at work!

Don't know if this helps but the 3rd time I broke my finger in less than a year, (this was during the holidays), I didn't even have the doctor check it I just got a pen and cellotaped it to my finger.

Last really bad crash I had was about 9 years ago-ate some rocks for lunch. Nothin' like German beer after a mild concussion to make ya feel better! Of course, I do have a steel plate and 4 screws in my right ankle. Popped a wheelie on my FS, unbalanced and tried to stand up off the bike. My ankle stood up, but the rest of me fell down. It was a little painful.

Most recently I tripped over some old carpet in my garage and busted my knee and sprained a wrist. Not bike related, but it hurts to ride. Gotta do it anyway....no ride=no life.

Big Lug, I dig your sig, man!
