Need a compatible bike rack, suggestions?
I recently began a lease on a new Pontiac G6 GT and am now researching rack solutions for this car. I originally bought a Saris Bones 3 rack but found that the design was pushing down (and actually bending) the plastic covering on the rear bumper. I returned the rack and started looking at the online fit guides for Thule, Yakima and Saris. So far, only Saris seems to have compatible options. It's a lease car so I'm just looking for a trunk mount that won't require any body modifications. After my experience with that Bones rack, I suppose I'm a bit nervous about what rack to try next. Also, the trunk of my car has a small integrated spoiler that the rack will need to clear. Does anyone have experience with the Saris Guardian 2 or any other good trunk racks? I tried doing a search for bike racks in the forums but didn't really find the answer to my question. Probably cause smarter people than I bought more bike compatible cars.

Check with U-haul or Draw-tite. They sell hitches custom-made for pretty much any car, usually that bolt on with no modifications (drilling at most).
Hitch mount racks are much more secure than most strap-based racks I've seen.

ya strap mounts have a good probabiltiyt of wrecking your car. i use a hitch mount thule https://www.thuleracks.com/thule/prod...id=8&sku=935XT it works really well exepth that my forks ar too long(888s) so i have to use bungee cords. it cost 200$ for the rack and 200$ for the hitch. and if you have a hitch it means you can tow a trailer(be carefull with the wieght because if you tow too much you will cook your tranny) it should be in the owners manual or just ask you dealer. they might even be able to give you a deal with the hitch.
