I live in Berkley and am just getting back into the sport with a bunch of newbie friends. We rode out at Island Lake last weekend and it was nice and dry. They have two loops and both are good for beginners. You should get familiar with the Michigan Mountain Biking Association website. It has a lot of good links and a great trail guide.

Which city are you in?
