Cummute From Evergreen, CO to the Denver Federal Center (Lakewood)

I'm considering commuting from Evergreen to the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this and can give me any feedback regarding route recommendations, besides what Google tells me, and how intense the ascent from Lakewood to Evergreen would be.

Thanks.

You have 2 route choices, US-6 & I-70 shoulder or 74 through Bear Creek canyon. I wouldn't even consider the latter during rush hour, and the I-70 section of the former is likely to be unpleasant.

Where in Evergreen are you? Instead of I70 you can do Hwy 40 (parallels I70) to 93, then south to Morrison and then east from there. Getting back will be "fun."

There's 74 to Kerr Gulch and bang a left heading north to hwy 40. That wouldn't be too bad in the morning I'd think? Then getting to Alameda Pkwy (big shoulder) ...

The stretch of I-70 from junction 252 to 254 is not much fun at any time, but I doubt it's much worse at rush hour and it's really short. Depending where in Evergreen you are I'd either take Kerr Gulch or Bergen Parkway then the I-70 pucker to Genessee and then 40, 93, Dino and Alameda like the poster above says. As for the ascent, it's a steady climb whichever way you do it but doable if you have the time.
