Bike Rental Shop in Colorado ?

Hello....Iīm from Germany....I want to visit Colorado in August.

Does anyone from Denver/Boulder/Col.Springs/etc. knows a good shop for bike rental, not to expensive?
Until now I just found shops with prices over 200$ per week per Bike. For two persons and three weeks vacation thatīs a lot
of money.

Or are there any other possibilities to get two race bikes for 2-3 weeks?

Thanks

My wife have ridden in France several times since 2010. We found that British Airways will carry bikes free if box and bike are under 23Kg

MunichMan, I couldn't find any rentals around here for even $200 a week. I concur with randallr that you should consider bringing your own bicycles.

if you want a road bike check with paul's they are at junction of platte river and bear creek trails paulscyclery.com his rate $120 wk my guess is he will go down multi wks OR if you want cruiser look at Denver bcycle membership is $15 a month plus usage fees

I emailed paulscyclery twice but he didnīt answer.
But Iīve got an offer for 150 per week in Col. Springs (Tedīs Cyclery). Maybe I take this one.

Unfortunately itīs not possible to take my bike from Germany to the US because Iīve got three different flights until I arrive in Denver.

i'm surprised I've met and talked to paul a few times on bike to work day AND rode with a cyclist frm Canada that rented from paul and was very pleased
I had the impression he'd be the type that would work with you

I wrote him a third Mail...hopefully he will answer now.

Otherwise I think Iīll try to phone him during the next week. Maybe he doesnīt like Emails ??

What size bikes do you need? Are you just looking for road bikes or mountain bikes?

I was looking for road bikes. But Iīve already reserved two bikes for August. So everything is ok now, thanks.

How was the trip? Did you enjoy your time in Colorado, MunichMan? I hope it worked out well for you!

I am biased, of course, but I think Colorado is wonderful! I have only visited Germany once, Hamburg for just a couple of days. Beautiful country.

Hello, Thank you for asking.
Yes I enjoyed Colorado a lot. Iīve been there in August. Two weeks Colorado and one week in Utah (Moab). Both was fantastic. A little bit too much rain in the Rockies because of the monsun - I didnīt knew that before - but except that it was perfect.
I climbed a lot of mountains: Mt. Evans, Independant Pass, Trailridge Road, Black Canyon, Red Mountain Pass, Grand Mesa, Col. Nat. Monument, La Sal Mountain Road in Utah, ...

Mt. Evans was the most exhausting because of the thin air. But I enjoyed the spectacular landscape the last 10miles. Utah was wonderful too.

Itīs difficult to compare Germany an Colorado. Germany has 82 mio inhabitants, Col only about 5 mio. So I loved the loneliness there and the fantastic landscape.

Wow, I do always forget how sparsely populated my home state is compared to the rest of the world! Sounds like you really got around the state! Those are some beautiful areas you visited. Yes, those monsoon summer rains can be intense--especially in the mountains.

I'm so glad you had a fantastic holiday. We Coloradoans are proud of all the sunshine our state receives!
