Bike Shop in Co Springs

Going to be traveling into Co Springs this Friday for a week of cycling...looking for a bike shop on the Western edge of Co Springs (belive I'll be over near the Garden of the Gods area during the weekend...family obligations).

Trying to locate a place simply to pick up some supplies (water bottles, CO2 cartridges, etc).

Try 505 North 30th Street, name of the store CSWest Cycerly. or Colorado Springs Bike Shop which is on 7th and Colorado.

whoa. i've never heard of cswest cyclery. is it new? there is a new bike shop on tejon and navajo called bicycle experience. i have yet to go in myself.

i sort of hate colorado springs bike shop. old town is another west side-ish bike shop. it's downtown on tejon and cimmaron. my favorite bike shop in town is brian's bikes on sierra madre. (look for the bike on top of the grain elevator off of the colorado bridge.) not much retail, but he has some used bikes, and more importantly super old cruisers and clunkers. it's definitely worth a trip. he's only open tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays though.

The closest to Garden of the Gods is probably Pro Cycling (719) 266-4047 on 4585 N Chestnut St just off Garden of the Gods Rd. Mostly high end stuff but they have all the misc. stuff.

Just curious but why? I've never had any problems there.

I would love to bring all my work to Brian but his odd hours tend to present a problem for me.

Sorry all...need to get my directions straight. Looks like we're actually closest to Woodland Park...any suggestions?

the owner there gives me the creeps. he seems like a pedaphile. all assumptions aside, i hate how i get followed around and hounded like i'm a shoplifter... mostly from the owner. however, i do like all the weirder and older stuff they carry and the used or cheap components in bags on the wall. that stuff is great for the bike projects i always find myself helping people with.

there's a bike shop on the main drag in woodland park, just a few blocks down from the sick donalds. i can't think of the name though...

what sort of bike are you bringing? there is a 16 mile loop around rampart resevoir, which is essentially in woodland park. it's a great mountain bike ride. it's pretty flowing and fun. it's not too tech, but not boring. it's great for a single speed. there is also waldo canyon, which is really fun too. it's just south of woodland park, off of highway 24. there is also williams canyon, which connects off of waldo if you know where the secret trail is... ;) williams is illegal to ride though. it's also super, super tech and pretty hairy in spots. i never ride it alone.

Cool; thanks. Did a quick search, came up with "Team Telecyle". Don't need any work done or anything, just picking up supplies, so it looks like that place will work.

No MTB riding this year...just Road. Riding up Mt Evans later on in the week. Used to come out to Colorado every Summer for a two weeks of MTB'ing in Summit County...haven't been on a MTB now for Ten Years. My motor skills wouldn't know what to do on those thick 29'ers anymore :o

that's the shop. 10 years with no mountain biking? you poor thing. i ride a 29er myself.

also, if you're interested, there is track racing every tuesday and thursday night.
http://coloradousac.org/track/schedule.php
racing starts around 6:30 and usually lasts until 9 or sometimes later. there are lots of super fast men and women here, so you should see some great racing. if you feel like racing at 6,000+ feet and have a uscf license, rental bikes are available. this saturday there is also a learn to ride clinic, if you're interested. they typically fill up quick though.

Team Telecycle is a nice shop, very MTB oriented. If they don't have what you need go to Old Town Bike Shop. Two best shops in town are Old Town and Criterium Bike Shop, IMHO.
Nice riding north from Woodland Park to Deckers and back on highway 67, keep in mind you are in the mountains with that SS.
