Denver clubs/teams?

i moved to denver in july and am starting to look around for a club or team to join next year...i'm no elite racer (cat4 road, cat3 cross), but i'm looking for a team to race and train with.

any recommendations and also any contact info would be helpful.

What part of Denver do you live in? That might make a difference as I've found it's good to have a team that's close to where you live.

Have you checked out the ACA's web site at americancycling.org? They govern racing in CO and list all of the teams.

i live in capitol hill in denver. and yes, i've checked out the ACA site, but i can't find any contact info.

If you dig into the Clubs spreadsheet on the ACA page it usually lists an email/website etc.

Let me know if you crack the code for getting with a team, I thinks its a pretty secret society. I did reach out last fall/spring. The responses I got ranged from no reply, no thanks, sign up for my coaching ($$) and I'll put you on the team, sign up for our team ($$) and we'll let you know when we are getting together and one actual here's an email of our 4 captain, send him a note and he will let you know when they are getting together for rides (Old SEAR, no Colorado Bike Law). I must have been dispirited by this point becuase I never followed up and did the indie thing again this past summer. I do think I will reach out again this fall to Co Bike Law. I think they start their weekend rides down near you.

I'd echo what bvfrompc said regarding where to find the club listings. I found my team (Echelon Spokes and Slopes - echelonspokesandslopes.com) by going for rides that the shop/team runs and meeting some of the guys. Most of the shops that sponsor teams have rides that allow you to get to know the team members. A good ride that a lot of teams participate in is the Mob Cyclery ride. Mob is located downtown-ish and you get a good mix of guys on that one. Another good place to go is the Tues/Thurs rides at the Meridian office park south of the DTC. These race-pace rides start at 6:00 and go for an hour. You can talk to guys before and after. Another thought is to go to races, ride as any indy and then talk to riders there. Especially if you have sucess at a race, somebody will want to talk to you!

Thats it right there, thats been my problem

Nobody is really excited about overweight Cat 4 35 + pack fill :D

Go talk to Michael Gibson at MOB Cyclery

He owns the shop - is a Cat 2 racer and is very involved with the Twin Peaks team. If you're invited to join, you'll get all the gear support you'll want including a pro fit. In exchange, he'll expect you to represent his shop like a class act ambassador would and show up for training and races.

Is that what you were looking for?

thanks everybody.....it's funny, i never figured that 'the bike scene' here would be so closed-off.

telenick, i met a guy who rides as a 2 on the einstein's team and he mentioned the mob rides. i suppose i'll start there.
