Jordan Parkway closure
Jordan Parkway Trail is closed between 70th and 78th south. They are rebuilding the part that fell in the river this spring. There is a tape and barricades across, with a guard. He doesn't know how long it will be, a few days is all he knows.
Nothing has been done on the rough dirt detour at 27th or so, for a couple of weeks. Not a high priority, I assume.

Thanks for the heads up.
I'll sure be glad when they finish more of this trail. I HATE the way it ends in the middle of nowhere in the bottom of Sandy. It's pretty harsh going from some of the best riding in the valley, to some of the worst.I understand it will eventually wind all the way down to Utah Lake. It's hard to find any current information about what segments are finished. In the south end of the valley it gets tricky.
Still riding the Traveler, Waldo.

Aloyzius,
It's not that bad from 85th south where the trail ends, clear down to 146th. Some pretty fair roads connect parts of the trail. Around thirty miles one way. Utah County has a nice twenty miles. Get me or Nycycle to show you.

Sounds great. I would love to catch up with you guys one of these weekends for a good ride and lunch if you're game. But I'm long on distance, short on speed, so I hope you guys don't have to wait on me.

Update
The barricades are gone at 30th south (approx) but it is not paved. Dirt and some soft gravel. The sign on the barrier at 70th south estimates October 5th for re-opening. Overpass at 4100 south is closed for landscaping/grading work. Shouldn't be long, I'd guess.

Ride and lunch
Don't worry if you're not long on speed. I'm not long on speed or distance! Nycycle is used to poking along at my speed and never complains. Sometimes he can't stand it any more on the climbs, and passes me. We both can make a pretty good showing at the table.

I'm there. Any time. Especially if Nycycle takes bribes. It would be nice to hear, "Gosh you guys are really good" or "Hey, could you slow down a little?" Even if it's just sarcasm.
