This Saturday? When the temp won't get above freezing and there's a 40% chance of snow? That's a hardcore duathlon. Maybe I'll ride out on my new studded tires (which I haven't been able to try out yet) and watch the fun.

My goodness. I managed to post this in the wrong thread. Lol

Yuck. The weather looks positively disgusting tomorrow. Good luck with that snow... snowy.

I looked into duathalons earlier this year. The issue is that no matter how hard I try I never have the desire to run and train or the time.
The half colfax marathon was a blast but .....

Snowy.
Good luck! I remember my first race was duathlon back in the 90s, Danialle Ballenger (endurance goddess) used to put a tri/du on in Evergreen. It was awesome, it was also mid-summer when it should have been Umpteen tris later, it was still the most fun I have had.

As to your original question, I will be inside, on a spin bike, thinking of you!

Warm vibes your way~~~~~~~~

We can definitely train together I will be mountain bike racing next season and thats the reason why I'm doing this race. Basically just to keep me in shape for the off season. I'm also snowboarding too so I keeping in shape.

You can still sign up for the next two races (Duathlon) one is in January and the other one is in February. Its called the Chilly Cheeks Duathlon. You can find it on www.active.com

Thanks for the support everyone it should be interesting tomorrow

Thats why I stared out with Duathlons, to stay out of the water

But slowly, over time, I taught myself to swim really slowly and now I can swim forever, it just takes me forever, but that usually means I spend most of the bike leg passing people, so I got that goign for me

That and since every tri here in the mountains is wet suit legal, you can pretty much float if you get tired with a wetsuit on.

I fear for snowgirl, it is freakin cold cold cold out there today, wet and cold, hello hypothermia!

Can't wait to hear the report!

So... how'd it go, Snowy???

I'd have tried to make it, but I'm busy packing... Hope everything went well!

(Oh, and yeah, it was a bit cold while riding today! )

Race went well everyone. I went snowboarding today and haven't had the time to log on. I finished the run and bike in 1hour and 25mins. Pretty good for my first duathlon. I'm quite happy with my results.

It was COLD and ICEY. They did allow us to make the choice to not complete the ride, but that was the whole reason for me going. I had to do it on my mountain bike and that was a good choice to go with that bike. My legs are in horrible pain today not real sure why, but going from the run to bike was something new for me. ALL IN ALL I had a GREAT TIME

Um, I think we'd all be in a bit of pain after that.

Congratulations!
