I've been to the last couple. Big crowds, so try to get there early. Quite a few dealers so there are bikes, parts, clothing. Lots of the bikes are new, but last year there were some older bikes--junkers, commuters, even some racing bikes, a couple of tandems and some tables where it looked like people were just cleaning out all the old parts in their garage.
Like Aloyzius said, it's fun just to wander around and take a look.
Well, I guess the only way to know for sure is to go, so I will! I'll look for you there, Aloyzius. Anybody else from the forums there, I'll be the old dude wearing a denim cap with Bradley-White Water Heaters printed on the front.
Anyone do any good? It was fun to check out all the bikes and parts, but I couldn't see any bargains--$200 for an Aksium wheelset, $600 for a set of Ksyrium SLs--good deal but not stunning. Mostly it seemed like a good opportunity for the local dealers to drum up some early-season enthusiasm.
I saw a very nice Bianchi with Campy components. While I was trying to decide whether or not to buy it, for $240.00, somebody grabbed it. They got a good deal. Sorry, Al, it was only about a 54, too small for you anyway.
Didn't really see anything too spectacular.
Did get to meet in person some one I met on craigslist. Neat kid on a fixie, and his roommate, another nice college kid.
