Riding in Rapid City and Pierre

I'm going to be in Pierre from the 20th to the 26th, and was planning to bring the bike with me. I don't know what is available in the area, or exactly how much time I'll have exactly. On the way back, on the 27th, We are planning to stop in the Rapid City area. If anyone wouldn't mind taking a couple of newer riders out for a bit in the afternoon I'd be interested in talking with you.

Obviously not from Rapid City, but I have ridden up there. One of the best rides I have ever had was out west of town on Nemo Rd. Climb on the way out is not too bad. I rode it on a Sunday morning and there was little traffic. Although it was a few years ago, the pavement was in great shape. I rode it in June that year and the Chokecherries were in full bloom and it had been raining earlier in the week so all the grass was green. It was one of the 10 best rides that I have ever had, and I have been riding since 1978 (including 2 years in Spain, 2 years in Germany and at leat 11 states) If you want to, you can even ride to Roubaix on that road!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (SD that is)

Merlin,

Do you know about any organized rides going on in the Laramie area in the near future? I was hearing a bit about one, but couldn't find any specifics. I'm just over in Wheatland.

I don't and all the guys who I know who would know are off to the Tour de Wyoming next week.

Here is that The Pedal House advertises. Not sure how consistently they do those rides though

"Mellow Monday road bike ride 6:00pm at the shop. Supposed to be a chat/recovery ride, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Wednesday night sprints at 5:30pm. Definitely a faster paced attack session to build your skills."

And it looks like the bike club is going down to Fort Collins to ride with the FCCC on the 19th.
