The "I wanna live in Colorado somebody must be hiring out there" thread..
I've been wanting to move to Colorado since I first visited Denver 5 years ago... monster.com just isn't doing it for me. Does anyone know who the good employers are for electrical engineering nerds?

It's funny you mention that. There is a big mortgage company in our building, and they laid off about 400 mortgage brokers, most of whom went to work for a foreclosure company down the street. When the economy turns around, they'll probably all be back. Hah.

Times are tough everywhere. Colorado is doing better than the national average for employment though. You need to go deeper than Monster. I do a lot of hiring (sorry, not your field), and I don't use Monster too much. Sometimes our recruiters send us stuff they find on Monster, but I am underwhelmed by the format and such.
Do research on the companies in the area that are in your field and match your cultural alignments, and reach out to them directly. Most good jobs never even get posted, so it is best to find the companies you like and get your resume into their HR department.
That said, living in CO is awesome, and worth the work to find a job here.

You may try looking at some of the local energy companies.
https://www.intermountain-rea.com/ - I have a buddy that works for them, and I don't think they are hiring, but start getting them familiar with you in case they do have a position come up. He's an EE too and he loves this place. They have a lot of bikers there too.
Xcel energy is the big one out here. They probably rotate through positions for EE's fairly regularly, I would think.
