Colorado Senate bill 148 house vote action needed
House vote delayed until Monday Mar 23 call/email you colorado house rep
There is still time to contact your Colorado House rep Esp. if you are from the Golden Area A friend in Golden area has contacted his rep and she's currently leaning to vote against so more contact supporting might swing a vote.
Bicycle Colorado has issued an alert for Senate Bill 148.
This is a bill requiring motorists to pass bike riders by at least 3 feet on roads. There has been opposition to this bill. Senate Bill 148 will not pass the Colorado State House without your help.
The final votes in the Colorado House could happen as soon as Monday, March 23rd!
Here is contact info, please do a simple click and find out. https://www.BicycleColorado.org

No surprise about Golden. I am sure the trucking interests for Coors are more powerful than our voice.

from Bicycle Colorado
March 30, 2009-
The Bicycle Safety Bill (Senate Bill 148) cleared another hurdle today on its journey to becoming a statewide law. The Colorado House of Representatives passed the bill (3rd Reading) on a strong 52-13 vote. Bill Sponsor Representative Michael Merrifield (D- Manitou Springs) passionately promoted the bill during the House debate.
Next the bill returns to the Senate to consider changes made by the House. Bicycle Colorado has strong concerns about one House amendment that prohibits a bicyclist from passing another bicyclist on state highways with lanes less than twelve feet wide. We are working to determining the actual affects of this language.
We will continue to work with the Legislature to improve this language and ask bicyclists and everyone wanting safe roads to be ready to weigh in on this language one last time.

And Gwen(sp) Green did vote against it. Funny, she hasn't returned my calls or emails.
I guess she knows that Golden doesn't have much a bicycle community, wait a second, it kinda does....
