    Pikes Peak Ride now Official

Looks like the Pikes Peak Ride is now official. I talked with one of the organizers today and they have all the permits and the event has been approved. This is going to be off the hook... Here's the official announcement of the race: http://www.ridepikespeak.com/Pikes_Peak/Media.html

Really, $180 dollars to ride to the summit, and then additional cost for a van ride down, or the train. what is the money paying for the water coolers, and granola at the aid stations?

The high price is probabley due to them renting out the mountain. Pikes Peak is a big tourist attraction, I'm sure you know. That alone may not justify $180 but a good portion of it.
