Katy tour: Who do you call about leaving car in St. Charles?
I want to do a night or two on the Katy this weekend. I can drive to St. Charles. Anyone know who to call about overnight parking for a night or two in St. Charles? TIA.

The StCharles trailhead (Mile marker 39.5) or another trailhead in the StC area? You won't have a problem leaving a car at the StC trailhead. There's a large public parking lot there that services the whole historic area. There are always cars there as there are bed&breakfasts and a casino right there. It's not like some of the other trailheads where all the cars are for trail users.
I live near that end of the trail and ride it several times a week so am happy to help provide info.

There isn't a parking area at the Machens trailhead at the end of the trail (Portage de Sioux). Beyond St Charles it's all farmland...very rural. There is an extra trailhead at mile marker 30, the Black Walnut trailhead. It has a tiny bit of parking and no bathroom. Black Walnut, MO is a really tiny rural farm town. You could park there I suppose but if I had to pick I'd go with St Charles.
That said, StC to Machens is a nice ride...I just rode it yesterday
