Neuvation Newsletter April 12 th Ben Lawee
Ben Lawee imported Motobecane and Univega bikes in the early 70’s. Both were some of the first bike lines to really get behind Suntour components. Suntour outperformed the other established brands of Huret and Simplex because of their use of the slanted parallelogram design on their rear derailleurs. Shimano at that point was only in the mass market and Campy owned the high end road market.
But just as importantly Ben had a good eye for design and was well known for color coordinating his bike long before most bike companies used graphic designers. Colored saddles, tape, and tires would find their way onto his bikes which looked better than their black and gray competition.
Now you can have the same opportunity with all of the Neuvation wheels built in the US. We offer you a choice of decal, spoke nipple, and hub colors on the R28 SLW (wide rim alloy clinchers), alloy tubular, and carbon wheels.
My personal favorites would be for red anodized hubs, black spokes, and red nipples on carbon rims without decals – but you can decide what you want for yourself.
