Ditto, although I have plenty of ways to block any and all ads.

I'll try to respond to a couple questions here. Things like registrations and such will remain unchanged. Same with Red Stars. As for new forums and such, we'll look to the moderator team to guide thinking on this. We hope our initial contributions are less visible, in terms of tech and business infrastructure.

Joe...

Congratulations on the sale. You've done something impressive here at BikeForums. And you've weathered a lot. The Al Qaeda hack and the Bicycle Smile thread being two of them. I hope you feel proud. And do well with your future ventures.

Vaya con Dios, Amigo.

Hi Joe,

Fantastic news (for you ;) ). Good luck in your future endeavors. Given your management of this enterprise I expect that you'll do very well with your next.

Joe - congratulations and thank you for establishing this site. It is fantastic, and because I have had a little experience being a administrator on a much smaller bird watching list server, I can truly appreciate the hassles and hard work that went into keeping BF up and running. You have truly created value and I am sure that Internet Brands will help to continue improving BF. I, too, hope the red star continues to do the trick. Again, congratulations and many thanks.

Congrat Joe!
I'm all for the american dream...
I'm looking forward to see what happens!
hopefully there will be fewer server crashes..... can't take the BF detox...

Good for Joe!!!

Hmmm, internet brands also owns Flyertalk.com. Flyertalk is a great site.

That being said:
I, for one, welcome our new message board overlords.

Good Luck Joe! You created a wonderful forum, that I was so glad to have found. Welcome Internet Brand, also.

Joe, is the rumour true that Shadiyah is going to kidnap you to Costa Rica where you can live off fresh fruits and vegatables and perhaps a few Piņa Coladas thrown in for good measure...

kemmer 06-01-07 11:21 AM

Congrats Joe!

Is it kidnapping if I go willingly? :D

Is it not the dream to do well and then retire to some tropical paradise? ;)

John and Ryan, sirs, Internet Brands isn't affiliated with Engulf and Devour, LLC, is it?

bhchdh 06-01-07 03:50 PM

Wow. Good for you Joe. You have built a very nice, freindly site. Internet Brands, please remember us dial up users as you consider changes.

"I’m also looking forward to having access to unlimited time with their programmers and server techs".

I think a dose of reality would be useful. If you can get unlimited time with them, there is a problem, they aren't worth a damn and there is too much overhead. More likely you will have to fight like heck amongst others to get access to their best programmers - a great coder is worth 10x all the others.

I'm sure Joe will still want that, and will wear it with pride. He gets to spend more time riding now.

crtreedude 06-01-07 04:52 PM

Merlinman, don't disallusion the poor boy yet... ;)
