Covered Bridge Ride-Bucks County October 9
Does anyone have a link to a course on RidewithGPS, Bikely, Bikeroutetoaster or similar for the 100k (62 mile course) that they know is correct? That is one that has been recently ridden. I have looked at a few on RidewithGPS and they do not seem to totally agree.
I would like to program a course into my GPS before the ride.
Thanks

Good question. I will also be doing this ride with my girlfriends father and brother in law. Is anybody else from BikeForums going? If so, we should all meet up or at least say hi. I will be doing the 62 mile ride myself. The ride is in 2 days.

I would do it, if I didn't have to work that day.

Hey Jbithica. It was a great day for a ride wasn't it? Did you do the full 63 miles? I thought the course was layed out very well and was easy enough to follow with the groups. I did the ride with my girlfriends father. He rides an 84 Shogun and did pretty damn well but started cramping up at around mile 55 or so. We both however had the best rides of the year probably. Between the weather, the course and the ride, this years experience has absolutely got me interested for next years already. What did you think?

X-LinkedRider, although I couldn't be there, I'm glad that you both enjoyed it. As someone who grew up in Bucks County, I'm glad that you had such a positive experience. The Central Bucks Bicycle Club does a nice job with this event.

Yes, they absolutely do. I live very close by in the Lehigh Valley and get to ride these roads occasionally. But they certainly did do a good job of choosing a nice challenging but also rewarding route. As long as I am in the country, i will be riding again next year.

Great Ride! Get rid of the motorcycles!
Ride was one of the better organized rides that I have ridden. Nice, challenging but not overly difficult course on fairly low traffic roads. Quick rider check-in. Adequate number of Porta-potties and good post-ride food. Course was well marked. We only had one small hiccup on the route where a group of about 10 of us did not see the route cues.
Weather was great, though I was feeling the heat a bit toward the end.
Only negative was the large groups of motorcycle club riders who were like swarms of bees a couple of times on the course. There were two near misses where both cyclists and motorcycles were turning at the same time on narrow roads.
I would highly recommend this ride and would probably do it again.

My bike
Litespeed Arenberg with a green Carradice saddle bag on the back. I was wearing a Yellow and Purple jersey that said Highlander Tour with a graphic of the 10+ climbs profiled on the back.

Yellow/Green bar tape?
I think we were standing right near each other at the starting/finishing line before we started.

Must have been another rider.
I saw two other Litespeed Arenbergs that were a model year after mine. I had black handlebar tape.

Ahh ok. Yeah, there we some nice Seven's and Lynskey's there as well. I always eye up the competition, even if it is just a charity ride.
