Icycle Bicycle 2014
We meet at REI in Southside works nominally at 10:45 AM, with the ride leaving at 11 AM. Hot beverages graciously provided by REI. Exact route and distance depends on weather conditions. A baseline route is here: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3784056 - From Southside works we ride to the West End Bridge, then through the North Shore area to the 31st Street Bridge. Then along Penn and Grant Streets back to the Mon and then back to the Southside. Roads will likely be safer than trails in icy conditions, but we will play it by ear. Helmets required to ride and all riders please sign in for insurance purposes when you arrive.
When: Wed Jan 1, 2014 11 am – 1 pm EST
Where: REI, South 27th Street, Pittsburgh, PA, United States
I rode this in 2012 and it was a fun ride and the weather was really mild. Hard to say what this winter will bring, weather-wise.
It turned out to be a pretty nice day for a ride after all. I think the temp at ride time was 29 or 30 but the roads were dry and ice-free. I had a great time! See you next year!
