Please recommend stores (offline) with a wide selection of bikes in NYC

Hello,

I recently moved to the United States (NYC) and don't know many things here. I want to bye a hybrid/comfort bike. What store has a wide selection of bikes (not expensive, I would like to spend ~$300 on a bike)?

Kindest regards to all bike fans!

If you're in Manhattan try Toga, Sids, Bicycle Habitat. For a used bike you could try Recycle A Bicycle.

For about 25 years I have been going to Arc de Triomphe in Queens, in Richmond Hill near the Brooklyn-Queens border. It is on Jamaica Ave. and 114th Street, a little east of the 111th Street stop on the J train.

They service clientele ranging from beginner to pro level; and they know how to speak to each type of customer. They scrupulously avoid the hard sell; the customer never feels any pressure. And their mechanics are top-notch.

If you go there, tell the owner Russ and the mechanics Kay and Jose that Fred (that's me) sent you. I have sent many people there over the years, and all have been satisfied.

The only downside is that they are not open on Sundays for most of the year. Though I think that they do open on Sundays during part of the summer.
