Give me a little credit here - lens inserts. I don't have clear ones, but my tinted ones allow something like 80% of the light to pass through, which is plenty. Better than losing an eye to a stray branch or a bug. (Though it didn't do anything to block out the residual truck fumes on the GWB.)

speaking of eye injuries. i was trying to cut my rear DR cable and a thin shard of metal flew off and hit my glasses. i picked it up and it was like a tiny little knife. i couldn't imagine how much pain i would be in if i didn't have my glasses on. whew! so, i hear you on not wanting to lose an eye to a branch or a bug.

i'm up for whatever. i have something to do saturday early evening so i probably won't ride the entire 100 miles, but i think i can at least ride most of it with you guys. i would probably skip the bronx part of it. wait - do you have the map available?

I ususally only average about 19 or so around the loop. I am not one of the fast people.

i'm heading up there after work on Thursday. but i can't get there until about 7:00. i'll keep an eye out for you guys if you're still riding at that time. i'll be on this bike (now with black bar tape) with a red jersey.

I ussually ride until about 8 or so. maybe we can make up a timmhaan song to sing so you'l know when you hear us.

I'll just look for no decal guy. You'd have been so much easier to spot with the ratty bar tape
