I guess it's gonna be a relaxed ride tomorrow. Only slow riders in the park apparently :-)

Actually I like riding with folks who are in the 17-18 range because that gives me time to kill myself hammering up the hill and go throw up in the woods while I wait for you ;) ...err I mean catch my breath.

Uh oh. How badly am I going to get my ass kicked?

stevie68 09-28-05 12:47 PM

No, no! I certainly meant to include myself.

Avatar 09-28-05 12:52 PM

Ok guys, I'll join you one of these days after I strengthen my knee (which got killed in the TA Century).

What was this called again? Sandbagging?

stevie68 09-28-05 01:32 PM

I don't feel like I am sandbagging. slvoid and cjc know how I ride. I was 100% serious about what my lap average usually is. Last time I did some laps after work I got 19.7mph my first lap and 18.6mph for all 6 laps. I am really not fast :) I am not sandbagging!

I think I'm going to show up just to see you and wheezl chase each other up the hills. Avatar, if you want to do some laps in the 17-18 mph range as opposed to the spin-until-you-puke range, please join in. We'll stay in their slipstream. :)

Unfortunately I look like this on a ride

cjc_cyling 09-28-05 01:53 PM

Or rather, we'll try to stay in their slipstream.

If I ever rode anywhere with hills that steep I would just fall over and die.

...now where did I put my Gran Sasso pics? ;)

stevie68 09-28-05 02:01 PM

The signs are fake :-)

Sure, another time when I take my road bike to the city. My workplace currently doesn't have any racks to park my bike. This week my knee needs to recuperate -- the CP hills will get to me.

Do you bring your rappelling gear for that? :D

wheezl 09-28-05 02:42 PM

...also since I usually go after work I will be doing laps in CP today also.

slvoid 09-28-05 02:56 PM

I think wheezl's sandbagging a little. The last time I was in central park with him, I was barely able to stay with him and he was going about 25mph on the flats (yeah don't lie, you were there).

Anyway, my gf rented the forgotten for tomorrow night. So I'm taking a break and going straight home. I'll be out there for the century on sat though. I was thinking of doing it at night for a more surreal experience. We can start at like 5pm at the northern end of central park and be done by 10pm and the brooklyn folk can be home by midnight or something.

I'm going out to 9W with cjc tonight so I'll get some riding in.

*sigh*

They finally charged my CC for the HID. If I had a light tonight I'd go with you two.

Well how the heck would I get a 19.7mph avg without pulling 25mph in the flats?? ;)
