Damn, I was hoping you guys would ride in PP tonight. I haven't been on the bike for over a week already.

Have a good ride tonight, no more run-ins with the 5-0.

I once hit 25 mph going down a hill while drafting a semi with a hurricane tailwind. Would've gone faster if I had my bike.

Oh and by me "hitting 25 in the flats" slvoid means that long downhill on the west side of the loop.

He could "barely keep up with me" because he was riding a commuter with the 700x35s and fenders on it and carrying his bag.

and he was keeping up with me juuuust fine.

Psst.. I cheated, I pumped my commuter up to 100psi that day.
You seemed to be doing well for someone wearing baggy clothes. Maybe you were having so much trouble cause of all the sand weighing you down.

Hooray, my lights arrived today (plus some leg warmers, arm warmers, and a saddle that I'm long overdue for). Once I get the new toys installed, I'll be up for some dusk/night riding.

Cadd, did you check out the PP races tonight? I was curious and thinking about checking them out next week. If they do the Central Park races next Tuesday, I might check that out too.

Ok, when's the weekend ride?
Since we haven't decided yet, want to bump it up to sunday so no one's surprised tomorrow morning?

You might be able to talk them into letting you race if you're interested.

What kind of distance and pace are you planning for the weekend ride? I'm not sure if I should take the plunge or wait for something that's less likely to leave me bonked in some unfamiliar, inhospitable corner of the city.

I set up my lights last night. Now I'm tempted to strap a glowing star atop my helmet to complete the Christmas-tree look.

i'd be up for a saturday ride as well. supposed to be fantastic weather. i say we adopt a no drop policy so people don't end up lost somewhere. now, any ideas on where to go? follow the TA-century markings?

110 Miles. You can ride the subway home if you bonk.

That was the idea. I suppose we could follow one of the shorter routes, but the 110 mile route was so damn awesome I really want to do that one again. I am all for a no-drop, help each other with flats, stop at the pretty places kind of ride.

Just put the slowest people up front and the fastest people in the back.

I can do a Sunday ride. Have work tomorrow!!!! But let's aim for something either late morning or early afternoon. Not in the mood to wake up at 6am on the weekend.

Ok, I'll stuff my pockets with food and a metrocard and hope for the best. The weather's looking too good for me to pass up a long ride, even if I wear out before the 75mi mark.

10am is fine with me. Do you have a regular meeting place?

I wish I was in the position to ride with you guys tomorrow, but I know my limitations. I'll be doing some serious training till next summer, so...... have fun tomorrow and ride safe. Need ya all back in one piece. .
