The wife an I are planning a short rde this Sat. about 20-ish, her first ride out this year. We'll probably be in the Litchfield/Londonderry area unless she is up for a greater challenge.... we ride a tandem

how's everyone's spring going?
I just wanted to comment how crappy the roads around No Central Ma are getting. With all the local budget cuts I don't expect them to be getting better any time soon. Local municipalities don't seem to be spending a lot of money on road maintenance.
Rt 12 and 101 in Ashburnham, sections of 2A and 31 in Westminster and Princeton are like riding the cobbles of Paris Roubaix..... But the roads in So NH, 119, 202 and 101 for the most part are in excellent condition.
How's everyone else's spring going? How are the road conditions in your locale?

Hey just wanted to check in and say hello. I did a ride with CRW on Friday and with Quad Bikes on Sunday. Definitely one of the slowest but had a great time, thanks to some friendly and helpful group members and definitely looking forward to going back as often as I can.

Hello from Ashby,
I live in Ashby, MA its between Fitchburg and the NH border town of Mason and New Ipswich. Really beautiful rides out of this area... out 119 into Ashburnham and Rindge NH or up 31 N into Wilton NH. Some of my best rides are out of Goodales Bike Shop on Monday nights. We go out west into Amhearst, Milford and MT Vernon quite a bit. Really great rides through Southern NH. Flat areas and LOTS of hill climbing. There is a 2.5 mile climb in Wilton (Central St) that has sections of 17% grade!

I'm in Nashua, riding tomorrow through Amherst - anyone interested? I'm a late comer to this sport, but treally seem to be getting addicted. I'm not very fast, so if you're looking to break lnd speed records, better pass on this one.

Live in central NH but (as of next week) work in Hooksett. Was in Manchester but our business moved.
Mostly ride on the road, but some rail-trail and I try to get out with some co-workers on the FOMBA trails after work.

Never heard of the FOMBA trails, are these trails MTB trails? The trail map looks very jagged, I am going to have to check them out some weekend.

Yes, singletrack MTB connected by fire roads. There is also a rail-trail nearby but I haven't ridden it yet.

Hollis, NH.
I'm resuscitating this because I'm somewhat shocked at how many people on BF live so close to me.
Which of you are roadies?

Somehow I missed this thread. North-central MA along Rt. 2 near Erving. Bring your climbing gears!
Road and mtb for me, though the latter is on deceptively easy terrain like woods roads etc. Riding at Northfield Mountain power plant is fun!

I see the thread has been bumped. Hadley, MA, here; I tend to ride north, either along the river if I feel like a flat ride or towards Wendell or the hilltowns if I want some hills. I'm training for the Shelburne Falls 200K brevet on April 24, and thinking of doing the rest of the series if I like the 200. My approach to cycling: slow but steady!
