Sadly, I think Mayor Dixon has other more pending things on her mind--like her indictment:

...and trial, now in November:

Hey guys long time no see... How are you all doing? I see its all the same faces here with a few more new folks that I don't recognize. Anyhow, I think the last time I posted here was over a year or so ago. Probably about 75lbs lighter ago.
I just got into other things... Take Care, Chat Later

Ghost bike: The Mayor says it is to stay up. It is not a hindrance.
My short take on Baltimore politics; Since Rikki Spector only gets the benefit of living in a 1/2 million dollar condo as long as she lives by her rich developer boy freind and does not actually own it, that's not being bribed by a developer. But since Dixon got the benefit of a few thousand dollar fancy vacation/date from her rich developer boy freind that has no tangible value, that is being bribed. Tune in next week for the next episode of "Single women in politics."

I really hate to discuss politics here but since the Mayor is very pro bike...
While Maxine has a point I think it is prudent to zoom out and look at the big picture through an analogy. How loudly would this group shout corruption if a attractive single female AAA lobbyist bought me a beer and we spent a weekend together at a resort and you found out about it through John Forester (apparently my arch nemesis on BF)?
Similarly there are the facts and there are the soap opera aspect of politics going on with our Mayor.
Harry, IIRC the total amount is 4 figures.

FWIW-I just got this.
Mr. Campbell-
The Mayor and the Department of Transportation thank you very much for
your email. The Department of Transportation was certainly surprised to
learn of the ghost bike removal. We have no intention of removing the
memorial at this time. We feel that it is a fitting memorial and a
crucial reminder that all users need to be alert and ride/drive/walk
defensively when navigating the streets of our city. We will continue
to make the streets safer for all and work aggressively to implement the
Bicycle Master Plan. If you have additional concerns, please feel free
to contact Nate Evans, our Bicycle & Pedestrian Planner, or myself.
Thank you,
Jessica A. Keller
Chief, Planning
Department of Transportation

Seriously, I think bikes related to politics is an important item to discuss but not so important to cause division or the lack of humor. Glad to hear some appreciation for my artful attempt to get a point across.

This DC RAND ride looks interesting (if it wasn't so far to drive to), but I would definitely need to do a gearing change:
SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2009
"TKO," starting from Maugansville Elementary School, Maugansville, Maryland.
**MEETING TIME 7:30 a.m.**
The "Technical Knock-Out" at issue today is a Tuscarora-Kittatinny One-two punch.
The first punch is a 1425-foot climb on the Lincoln Highway up to Tuscarora
Summit, where your efforts will be rewarded by a fantastic panoramic
view of the valley below from the Mountain House Bar & Grill. See some
really neat photos of old postcards of the area at
https://roadsidephotos.sabr.org/LH/centpenn02.htm.
The second punch is amere 975-foot climb over Kittatinny Mountain. There are a
few less significant climbs as well, and plenty of fairly mellow riding through
Cumberland Valley farm land. Lunch will be at Johnnie's Restaurant in
McKinney, which has a neat ambiance. The last time Chuck and I were
there, three seriously cute little Amish boys (the youngest looked about
7) rode up to the restaurant on horseback. Other points of interest
include Cowans Gap State Park, the Buchanan State Forest, the historic
Browns Mill one-room schoolhouse, and the picturesque Martins Mill
Covered Bridge (see
https://www.twp.antrim.pa.us/?show=article&id=70&sid=58). 103 miles,
with an optional 66-mile ride that skips the second climb.
Directions to the ride start:
MAUGANSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, MAUGANSVILLE, MARYLAND
From DC beltway go north on I-270 to Frederick. Then take I-70 west to
I-81. Then take I-81 north to Exit 9 (Maugans Avenue). Left (west) on
Maugans Avenue. School is 0.5 mi. on the left.

On September 26-27, I'm riding the "24 Hours of Booty," a 24-hour ride that's a fundraiser to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation and, locally, the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.
(I suppose I should put in a plug for donations! Here is my page:
https://www.24hoursofbooty.org/site/T...nal&fr_id=1070)
Anyway . . . the route of the original ride, in Charlotte, NC, is a 3-mile route locally known as "The Booty Loop." Similarly, when the ride expanded to Columbia, MD, they laid out a short loop, through the Gateway Business Park. (Last year was supposed to be the inaugural year in MD, but Hurricane Ike intervened.)
To prepare for the potential mental issues of riding the same 3-mile circle over and over again for 24 hours, I have been toying with the idea of doing the Second Most Boring Century in the World: 9 laps around the BWI Trail. (Or, maybe, one run down the B&A Trail and back, and then 6 or whatever around BWI. But that might not be boring enough. )
I'm thinking of doing this tomorrow (although I'm supposed to be heading to a get-together with friends tonight, and that can sometimes, um, throw a monkey wrench into early-morning plans. )
(By the way, the "Most Boring Century in the World" was a ride that Potomac Pedalers used to do -- maybe they still do, and I think it was partially them, partially the DC randos -- the annual New Year's Day century around Hains Point Park (also about a 3-mile loop) in DC. )

...how about 100 loops around Lake Montebello!

You have indeed answered the call!!!! And thank you very much.
It's a good thing I'm in my office with the door closed -- I don't think anyone heard me busting up laughing at the Pink Ninja photo.
