You worked the TdP, good for you. I was marshaling at Sparrows point. I probably saw you at the table. I grabbed some of the lemonade(yuk!). Wish I drank the water. At the Tour dem Parks ride they serve Resurrection Ale from Brewers Art brew pub. Great brew from a great brewery. If you haven't tried this place you should. Upstairs is upscale dining and downstairs is funky.

Your job is moving!! Wow 220 miles per week. You can take the Penn Line when the legs aren't feeling it. It goes all the way to Perryville. They allow folders on board. I'll school you on folders when I fee you're ready to make take plunge;-) I can see it now, Isaias in full racing attire on a clown bike.

I'll probably go to the BBC thing. I'd rather just ride there, bring the bike inside and see if they've got the gall to kick me out. If anyone else is making a showing, I'd be up for beers afterwards.

Max, do you know where it is?

*ahem* we poured a whole lotta mix into that lemonade... (sorry)

Thanks for the tip on Brewer's art pub. I think I'll catch Tour dem Parks next year, too.

It's at the Parkville American Legion, 2301 Putty Hill Avenue. Saturday, 20 November, 6:30-9:30. RSVP to Beth Cooper by 11 November.

C'mon, NR, we can go get *real* beer afterwards!

Hi, guys. A good friend of mine had his Lynskey stolen in DC. He posted a description here: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...53-Stolen-Bike I'm reposting it here to increase the odds that a local pair of eyes spots such a distinctive bike.

Thanks. Wish you could've come out for lunch at the least.

Attendees (that I knew): Chuck & Crista, Charlie (met him on my double century weekend on Skyline Drive), Tag, John #1, John #2, Liam, Elizabeth, me, and Maile. There were others, but I didn't get their names.

Maile had a crash on River Rd. Her left pedal came unscrewed as we were going up a small hill--all of a sudden no resistance and she went down hard. Bounced the front left of her helmeted head off the pavement, slight road rash on her left forearm near the elbow and left quad, and a small patch on her left hip. The bike's right shifter got pushed in and was filled with dirt. This was a brand new bike, too. Chuck and Liam were able to get the pedal back on, but some of the first threads were stripped. Luckily the last 3/4ths of the spindle had good threads. They were able to get it securely fastened, but you could tell that Maile was tentative for the rest of the ride in to Baltimore.

I ate lunch with them at Little Havanna. They headed back. I extended my ride to what would have been only 61 miles (if I would have gone straight home from Key Hwy) to 88 miles.

beautiful wknd. I was only able to bike about 30 miles. I ran sweep for the Patapsco Valley Heritage ride. Wish I had a pair of shorts with me. Great AM commute looking at the red sunrise(red sky in morn...sailor take warn, rain today I guess). NR, glad to see you really took advantage of the weather. The downer for the wknd, I helped the wife wash the windows. Man do we have a lot of windows and they were really filthy, been years since they've seen a wash rag.
Hope some of you are thinking about the Halloween ride in B-more this Saturday night. Billed as a slow peaceful ride.

Here's a new site where we can post photos for bike lane violations. I say we should enlarge theier license plates then their addresses.
baltimore.mybikelane.com

@NR I wouldn't mind drafting that roller blader....for a long time, if I could keep the pace:-)

Well, even though it says it let's you login using your Facebook credentials, it doesn't seem to really work. Looks like you have to create a separate account. It says the form is anonymous, yet you have to log in?

I got the site from Nates forum. Someone named cyclosity posted it. If it is Facebook I am surprised I could open at work(which I did) as we are often denied access. Since I am FB challenged I am uncertain I could post even if it worked correctly. Here's cyclosity's post.

No... it's not Facebook, but it let's you use your Facebook login to log into the mybikelane.com site. Many sites are starting to do this... using your Google or Yahoo or Facebook or Twitter credentials to gain access without having to create yet another user login and password combination.

The fastest I've clocked these guys was 15mph (on BWI trail) what was the speed shown, 24 or 29mph? Still that's flying!

On totally unrelated subject, a group of us have been hammering out "Rules and Tips for Motorists Sharing the Road with Bicycles" for inclusion in the MD Driver's Handbook. Guaranteed to be better then the old "cyclists must ride as far right as practical" advice given to motorist. Well OK, doing better then that wasn't hard but still we are trying to break new ground with our recommendations. I hope to have the pieces together to go full swing on this campaign tomorrow in the meantime to wet you appetite here is our Statement of Purpose:
For the past decades bicyclists were admonished to ride as far right as practical giving the mistaken impression that motorists could then pass within the same lane resulting in an astounding 2/3 of all bicyclists fatalities happening in non-intersection areas. In keeping with Goal 4 of the 20 Year Bicycle and Pedestrian Access Master Plan that states "Develop education and encouragement programs that will increase levels of bicycling and walking and foster a pro-bicycle and pro-pedestrian ethic in individuals, private sector organizations, and all levels of government." We the undersigned strongly encourage the adoption of the following language to clarify how drivers of automobiles should safely maneuver around bicyclists and where they might find cyclists or simply put we need to get "everyone on the same page." Since the Maryland Drivers' Handbook is the backbone of many police officers understanding of what is expected of cyclists as well as the general public we hope this will foster a more positive cycling experience over one that currently has too many incorrectly asserting what bicyclists should do. We therefore would appreciate strong consideration on behalf of the MVA.

Sounds like a good start, Barry.

I believe the video showed her at 20, 24, and 23 MPH.

Way to go ce. I am moving in the opposite direction each day, from Hampden to New Town. I ride the whole distance these days, but I must admit that without the metro as an option I probably would never have built up to riding straight through. The metro is what made it possible to bike commute every single day.

Welcome shorthanded. You've got a good rando base up there in Frederick with Bill Smith and the fred. pedalers.
I lead 100 milers with the Balt Biking Club every month and we've had a couple riders come down from Frederick for those.

In fact. last monday, I gave a check out ride to this: https://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/468931. With some more tweaking, this will hopefully become the November 14th ride. It includes several miles of backwoods unpaved road. Super fun.
