Looks like y'all had a good turnout and very nice weather. Any ice? How many folks rode studs? I can't imagine using them for a century. Looks to be a realy nice weekend coming up. I won't be around to enjoy it though as I'm going away for a week.
Was vengeful lemon the guy with the lemon 'hat' and boots
If NR post GB's pix to facebook then GB will "officially" be on FB.

Oh sure.

BTW: my grumpiness about FB is mostly about my personal use of it. I def. don't mind others posting links to anything I do out here in "the real world"

thanks Bob. I just wanted to be sure, since it's so closely tied to that dirty business of selling things, I wouldn't want to drag people into it, but you've got the dubious honor of being the only person with a photo of me riding that shiny-new bike.

should we link back to your flickr/blog and attribute the source ("photo courtesy of Bob Wagner")?

Poor Bob, trying to keep up w/ NR and his new wheels....and spiffy haircut

Good news: Last night, the Baltimore County Council unanimously passed Bill 2-11 which will create the Pedestrian & Bicycle Advisory Committee. The bill now goes to County Executive Kevin Kamenetz for final passage. ...read more in Nates blog. Thank you guys for emailing, calling or whining to your CMs.

I hear ya. Didn't we get over 10" of snow in March last year. That would be a bummer if it's the same this year. Can't wait to go biking on the NCR this weekend. Hopefully it will reach mid 50s or even warmer.

Cheers.

New rider in Queen Annes. I have only been on the Tuckahoe State Park trails, since it is only 20 minutes away. Sooner or later I will search for other trails in the area.

Welcome Rob. I am relatively new in Maryland too. You should definitely try the following routes/trails:

Mount Vernon trail: https://s244.photobucket.com/albums/g...rail_Virginia/

NCR Trail: https://s244.photobucket.com/albums/g.../NCR_Trail_MD/

Annapolis (Bay Area mostly): https://s244.photobucket.com/albums/g...mes/Annapolis/

Very scenic and Fun. Maryland is a small state, but very resourceful.

Last but not least, try camping/hiking/biking in Assateague Island.

This summer I am planning to bike the C & O canal trail, but i need to train hard before I attempt the epic tour (Total 400 miles round-trip :-)

Cheers.

It's my youngest daughters birthday this weekend and I thought I would come into town. Anyone have a floor I can crash on Friday and Saturday night? (I will probably be arriving late Friday, so that will be a bit of a bother.)

Hey all just got back and brought some warm weather with me. Dag pretty nice around these parts. Covered in snow and ice when I left. Hope y'all are doing some riding without studs. Nice pics and write-up bob. Didn't see any pics of me though.
@Barry sorry, a little too late to help you.

It was a very nice ride today, if not for the head wind. I went biking near and around the loch raven. What a beautiful day. Good to see all the ice melting

Day's like this make you wish you weren't driving.

Cheers.

Hey BF folks, I've been away for a bit, riding has fallen off, personal loss a few weeks back, trip to Mt. Washington. Did manage a couple rides last week, felt good to be back on the bike. Really need to ramp it up int spring though. Busted a link in my chain at the base of Lake ave the other day. Couldn't put any torque on the chain so mostly walked it home. Think I need to just replace the link or whole chain. Chain is not that old.

Anyway, Mt. Washington, pretty epic stuff, great trip, great company, learned LOTS!
Here's a trip report and pics.

Hi, Harry. That was a great write-up, and fantastic pics! I've read "Into Thin Air," too (I've read all of Krakauer's books, actually, enjoyed them all) and the whole time I was reading it, I had this undercurrent of "Man, as much as I love to hike, I cannot even *imagine* doing something like this!"

My condolences on the passing of your sister; what an incredibly beautiful resting place! {{ hugs ****

Mountaineering

It's definitely addicting. I was hoping to go back this winter but I think I'm ready for spring. Will definitely be going back next year, but no camping.
