Cannonball Century on Oct 1

Fredericksburg, Virginia is having its 9th Cannonball Century on Sunday October 1st. I just found out about it recently and would like to do it. Registration is only $25 if you do it online by Sep 22 :)

I'm wondering if anyone else from the DC area is going... I'd like to find someone to carpool and ride with!!! I recently did the PPTC Century with a friend, but he can't go to Cannonball. If you're up for it, let me know. I averaged 19 mph pace in the recent PPTC Century (rolling hills).

*bump*

Anybody, anybody from the DC area want to ride the Cannonball century??

When did Fredricksburg drift north of the Potomac?

Lovettesville Octoberfest ride that weekend.

Begs the question, which regional forum should the DC area be in? Northeast? Southeast? Both? Split?

Yeah, I tried posting DC stuff in the southeast forum, but no one replied, so i figured we're apparently in the northeast. There needs to be a mid-Atlantic forum I guess... DC/MD/DE or something like that.

How long is this Lovettsville ride? Where's the signup for it?

I've been checking both forums. Maybe we should petiton to have the border line changed, or a forum of our own.

Lovettsville is a PPTC ride. No sign up needed. On Saturday (so Sunday is still free if you want to do the C'Ball.)
Fun event. Think it's the 3rd or 4th time Barbara's run this one.
Lovettesville, Waterford, Hamilton, Purcellville, Airmont, Round Hill, Hillsboro. 44 miles, CC level, moderately hilly.
By the time we get back, the Octoberfest is in full swing. I usually get some food and go home, but I may do a post-ride ride out Taylortown.

Yeah, folks around here are too uppity and rude to be southerners, yet definitely far south of the Mason-Dixon line. I think we need our own forum :)

Good to know about that! Thanks for the info.

I'm really sorry that I saw this post so late in the game. I live in DC and feel like the planets are aligned for me to do my first century and do it well. That said, it seems like the season is coming to a close and I'm wondering if I'm SOL until next spring.

Oh yeah, the point was that my in-laws are in town this weekend, so there's no way the wife would let me get away with disappearing on Saturday (and being useless on Sunday). Damn damn damn.

PSSST... the Century is actually on *sunday*, not on saturday, and you can sign up at the event for $30. Wanna do it? :D

Or a DYI century. Take the W&OD from Alexandria to Purcellville and back for 88 miles. You just need 12 more getting to and from Shirlington.
