NY Cyclists ...Is Bay Ridge My Own Curse?

I know this is a commuting forum but also know there are a lot of NY'ers here.

My usual non-commuting winter ride has me starting out downtown Bklyn and by-passing Coney approaching from different angles. (often going into the Rockaways) It seems whenever I choose to loop around Bay Ridge be it via 3rd,4th, or 5th I wind up flatting out.

I do not exchange my Pro-Race tires for a beefier tire for the winter so I am more flat prone to begin with, however it seems odd that I usually have no problems but for the Bay ridge bound path.

Yesterday was the first time in my cycling life that I had to take the train home. I flatted out at Senator and 4th and found that my spare wouldn't hold air either. Pissed me off big time, especially when I got to Dekalb and found out I had to go back to Pacific to get a local train down town. Crappy Transit Authority, one time I ask for it's help it has to screw me around! Further reinforcement that cycling is the only way to get around - but for a bad spare tube.

Anyone else have this experience on this route?

First, this isn't Commuting, it's Community....

Second, I've had the occasional flat in Brooklyn. But if you're getting 2 flats on the same tire right after one another, I'd think there's something up with your tire (e.g. a raw section, or something in the tire that you didn't notice).

Whoa missed that, even after you stated, 'this is community' I thought you were being welcoming till I noticed you meant it literally.

I'll repost in the right place.

Just a note, the spare was bad prior to putting it on!

Not as clueless as I thought - I have been forcibly moved here.

I have never gotten flats in Bay Ridge. I got relatively few flats in Bklyn, and I used to commute from there. They were all pinch flats.
