One question: Do we want to go straight up and back 9w, or do we want to plan a route back across the bridge and back down through Westchester? I personally vote for up and back. I'm not in the mood for navigating.

I'm doing the straight up and back, cause then I can just stay on 9W and not worry about getting lost so I can just go balls out all the way.
The last time I did the MS ride through rockland county up there, that whole NJ section I think we averaged around 20mph the whole way. Aiming for slightly slower, I'd say maybe 7 hrs total? Though I do want to stop in piermont to grab a bite. The longest I've ridden for with just 2 bottles of water was about 75 miles or so and that was w/o the big climbs.

9W on the way up and back gets my vote. I've ridden up through Westchester to Hartsdale but not further north and never ridden from Westchester back to Manhattan. Besides, I think the Henry Hudson Bridge walkway is closed - or at least there were signs saying it'd be closed for construction several weeks back.
40-50 miles of hills? I'll definitely need more than two bottles of water.

I tried dragging Jimbo to ride with us tomorrow but he had some sorry assed excuse, like "oh noes, the paragon sports warehouse burned down and i need to be there saturday."
If you think I'm fast, that guy's got a good 6 years and 10 lbs on me.

This is a loop taking in both sides of the Hudson. FWIW I have never done this or any ride this long, but the website above has lots of great routes in the Hudson Valley.

So 8:30 at the Brooklyn Bridge, right?

My knee was sore so I stopped at Nyack but Slvoid and nycphotography made it to Bear Mtn...or at least a few miles from the top. I met back up with them in Piermont and we headed back to the city after grabbing a snack. My round trip was nearly 70 miles with 4600 feet of elevation. Bear Mtn was probably 110 mi. with double the elevation. I think the plan is to do the same trip in a few weeks - who's in?

I'm unexpectedly out of town for a couple weeks... but definitely going to hit it when I get back.
