Great photos, it looks like a really nice ride, and nice road. Not something I would imagine starting in NYC.
Oh yeah, it was a fairly clear day, so if you click through to the photo site, and view the mountain top picture full size, you can see the NYC skyline off to the right of us. ;-)

Oh dude, stop exaggerating. I only stepped out of the way to stay clear of you performing what looked like some hybrid micheal jackson/ chicken dance moves. However, If I had scampered off, I'm sure it was only because I had a bright yellow jersey. Which brings me to my next point. I only stayed out back because of said jersey. I figured, me being the most visible, that I should hold up the rear to make sure we don't run over by those motorcycles doin' a buck thirty.

Oh, and I have to apologize to Tim for sneaking up behind him and letting off a blast of CO2 while he was riding making him think he flatted, again. It was hilarious.

From the top... that is NYC. The thought of riding all the way back there makes me cringe...

Wow nice view. So rural and rideable from NYC. cool! Great photo. I imagined roads like FDR Drive etc. I like the blast of co2, flat tire trick!

If you have a trigger operated co2 inflator, screw a presta cap wide end into the schrader threads about a quarter turn. Then aim carefully in a safe direction and pull the trigger. Pow, just like a gunshot or an exploding tire. Be careful the presta cap now is a bullet. Make sure Bailey is not in the yard when you do it.......UH ............I mean don't scare anyone.

Dude, that is NOT NYC. That's a water tower. NYC is way off to the right. On the other side of the tree.

NYC is off our shoulders to the right in the group picture.

Nice job of posting the hubble resolution picture. You don't know how to crop?

Sorry I missed this earlier. We've ridden in that way once. Went around the right side of the circle from 6onto seven lakes.

If my memory is still intact.... It's a little hairy, but doable. If you get spooked just pull over and walk, its only a hundred yards or so.

Haha you're lucky I didn't post the 3000 pixel wide version. I think the bump to the left is the tower. Cause on our group shot, we were standing on the rock to the left of where the chick is standing, which is the other bush, and relative to that bush, nyc would be to the right of that.
The rock we're standing on has a layer flaked off it.

The only way to be sure is to take advantage of the nice weather forecasted for this weekend and go up there again, to make sure.

The battery died after Piermont, but we all know the way right? (It had already recorded my ride to Brooklyn, the race, and the ride back to the bridge that morning.)

I'm in for Sat. Even more so if some adventure is in order with the route.

I'm probably in for Sat.

I'm probably less intersted in a new route this time... I just want to run the same route as last week for a comparison point, and also because I need to be home much earlier this time. Less stopping, and shorter stops if possible.

But I'll ride a diff route if everyone wants to.

Last week we drove up with our kayaks and bikes and stayed at the Baker Camp Cabins on Lake Sebago. They call them rustic, but rustic is an understatement. $90 per night and they sleep up to 6. No stove. Walk a bit to showers and bathrooms. For $60 per person you can get breakfast and dinner. There's also the state run sebago cabins (bookable through reserve america) that are in better shape and have cookstoves, but they seem to be booked through the season. They are also cheaper at $62 per night, $110 for one with a kitchen and private bath. Hell why not ride up for a weekend and explore all the roads through the park.

I think that's where John and I rode past on the scenic route. Hoping to make it for Saturday, but still tentative. Also very much up for scenery.

I need to be back early afternoon....

Not that I want to be up this early, but anyone up for leaving 7AM brooklyn bridge, with fewer, shorter stops on the ride?

Mazaev, what time do you actually get out of work? Could we swing by and pick you up?

ah, wish i could. got that yankees game to go to in the afternoon. i'd rather be riding.

have fun, don't let any old guys tell you to ride single file, and be careful of blow outs returning from piermont. those suck.

Minor change of plans. Instead of waiting at riverside, I have a little errand to run in Brooklyn in the morning and will meet you at the bridge at 7:45-7:50 depending on how fast I ride there.
