Where Do You Ride? - NYC

I live in the Bronx. Besides 9W, where does everyone ride?

I ride Central Park, Prospect Park, the loop around Manhattan, occasional rides up 9w & some rides with NYCC. Check trans-alt.org for a bike map & nycc.org for ride listings (20 bucks to join)

Does NYCC have weekend rides? I tried to see the ride calender, but you have to be a member to view it.

Troop, Yes, NYCC has at least 2-4 rides every weekend and a few weekday rides. They expect minimal paceline skills on B rides & advanced skills on A rides.

Most of the NYCC rides are on the weekends. If you want to find out what kind of rides the NYCC does, you can join our annual fully supported century "Escape New York" 10/13. There are 3 routes, 100, 60 and 50 miles. You can choose to ride by yourself or with a group lead by ride leaders. If you choose to ride with the the "A" type groups, pace lining skills are required.

Also, if you want to push your riding into the next level, you might want to join one of the SIG's next year. It starts from late February/March and ends around early May. If you stick with the program, you will be one of those hammerheads come next summer You can find out more information about them on the NYCC website.

Don't forget http://times-up.org for fun non-hammering rides and http://5bbc.org for organized rides of varying paces.

Nice shots - b&w does look more poignant for that day.

On my list of routes *not* to miss in the general area... the South and North County Trailways in Westchester:

http://westchestergov.com/Parks/Trailways.htm

I'm still looking for that route where I don't have so many junk miles between Astoria and the start of something more than laps around CP.
