I am an artist taking part in an annual charity event put on by Neighborhood Bike Works in Philadelphia and wanted to generate some interest so more people will attend it. The event is a weekend long extravaganza of celebrating bikes, art, and the spirit of community.
*Friday, Oct 5, 5-10p: It kicks off tomorrow night with an Art Show and Auction which features the work of some 100 artists using recycled bike parts in their art pieces. All works are being auctioned off to support the ongoing efforts of NBW. There will also be live music by local musicians Cowmuddy and MKMS featuring members of Philly Slick, food and drink, raffle prizes, and more. *Saturday, Oct 6 is the Open Gallery (doors open @ 11a) and Bicycle Repair Workshops (begins @ 2p) featuring graduates of NBW's Earn-A-Bike Program. *Sunday, Oct 7 is the Open Gallery and Social Actions Forum which gives patrons a last chance to buy Bike Part Art , hear more about SpokesPeople, and participate in a Speak Out @ 2p.
Location: The Power Plant, on 2nd between Race and Vine, Philadelphia.
