Camping in Middlesex county

Anyone know of a place I can camp in Middlesex county? Ideal would be within a few miles of Edison or Highland Park.

I've never camped before, and I'd like to introduce camping to my bike tours. This would be for a trial run to somewhere more interesting than my own backyard.

Is Cheesequake state park in Middlesex? It's in the Matawan area, not the closest to Edison, or HP, but they do have camping there.

Is there camping in Allair SP??? Is that Middlesex county?

Allair is like exit 98 off GSP, Cheesequake is Exit 120.

Allair is in Monmouth, I think. Might even be Ocean County, but I don't think it's quite that far down.

I'm looking for a place to camp within a day's ride from home (Edison). Maybe this will help; you can click on the picture to see a larger version.

Camping is available at Turkey Swamp County Park in Monmouth County. Road riding is good around that area too.
