Depends on what you're looking for, if you ask me. Getting a bike? Maintenance? Also kind of depends on where you are and how far you want to go. I've had good experiences with Piermont Bikes, which is actually in Rockland County, right down on the river. There are quite a few other good shops. Briarcliff Bike Works in Briarcliff Manor is excellent. They are a bit more MTB than road oriented (as are most shops in the immediate area, oddly enough) but are great nonetheless.
