    Regular NYC / Brooklyn rides?

I go to NYC quite often (yeah Chinatown bus!) and usually bring my bike with me - are there any regular rides / group rides during the weekend or Thurs/Friday? I usually stay in Bushwick (Halsey) or Bed-Stuy, but riding to meetup for a group ride is no problem.

I've seen a few 'one time' ride type threads, and some mentioned in the search, but would rather get some current info then bump old threads...

check http://times-up.org/calendar/calendar.php - they have the best listing of rides in the city. i live in chinatown, on the block where they let you off the bus. i didn't know you could bring a bike on them, though! looks like i might do some Boston or Philly rides this summer...

Sweet - thanks for that link. The bus that's the best about bringing bicycles is the Washington Deluxe, it's run by hasidic jews and they always put me at the front of the line when they see I have a bicycle. Love those guys. I used to take Today's from Richmond / DC all the time, but now they stop in Baltimore, and Philly and THEN NY. Now I just take Eastern's - it has wireless internet too.

A list of Critical Masses is the "best list in the city?" Sheesh....

Try www.5bbc.org and www.nycc.org for more typical group / club rides. 5 Boro if you ride slow, NYCC "A" and "B" rides if you're faster.

actually, apart from the CM rides, I've found some cool nighttime riverside and central park rides on Time's Up, as well as last weekend's Coney Island ride. Your links are great took, thanks for posting them. i'm actually thinking of organizing a ride or two myself...

Do it! I'd really like to do something 4th of July evening / night that ends at the Piers, or even during the weekend. Isn't there a bike path around that area?

Unfortunately I will be up in Massachusetts for the July 4th weekend (leaving tomorrow morning).

However, yes there is a fantastic bike path that runs the entire length of the west side of the island (the side facing new jersey). check out my profile on MapMyRun.com, I have posted a number of rides that go through that area: http://www.mapmyrun.com/user/united-...ew+york/catnap

check out the rides titled "Loop The Island," "West Side Work Commute," and "Ride To Coney Island"
