Yeah, that part of the cape is really the best part, Eastham Wellfleet Truro. I grew up vacationing there and eventually spent some summers working there. One of my favorite memories is the sound of the sand granules as I rode on the summer pavement. Simply addicting. The backs roads off Route 6 are definitely the way to go. I'm hoping to get out there this fall. BTW; Eastham rentals are more affordable that the other two towns. With all the beaches, oceanside, bayside, and ponds, one can spend the day on a bike. There are also many places to buy supplies like breakfast and lunch.

My bike club rents a house in Falmouth every year weekend after Labor Day. There are some nice rides there too, we do a ride to Bourne Bridge, Silver Beach and one of the members flies his plane in, we ride out to the airport. One day we take the Island Queen ferry to MV and break up into groups, some to Gay Head some to Menemsha. Sometimes we drive to Wellfleet then ride to P-town but have not done it the last several years. Nobody is really up for the long drive, we'd rather just ride. It's too bad because it's a fun ride but with gas prices I doubt we will do it again this year.

Good rides ideas. I like biking on the vineyard too. I hear ya about the gas prices. I usually go out to the cape more often.

Buy I saw some nice bikes at the Wellfleet flea market this summer! A mint vintage FUJI road bike for $175.00 I should have bought it! The bike had about 6 sweet rides. If only I knew then what I know now!

Going to VT - curious to see if there are any bikers on those VT hills

+1 on taking the CCRT up to Race Point - very scenic and a good deal of history there as many vessels never made it around the point:

There's so much to do along the trail, which is a MUP and very busy in season south of Orleans. The ice cream shops along the way are essential stops, although many Cape Codders will argue that Sundae School is better.

Finally, I wouldn't stop at Race Point, but go onto Provincetown. After Sept. traffic will fall off and you'll have an easier time.
