mta - lirr bike permit

Aside from having the mta bike permit and train ticket, is there any additional cost each time you bring the bike on the train car?

I've noticed in the past they charge the cyclist additional for having the bike? Did I see it right?

No additional charge so long as you bought your ticket in advance (at the station). There is a ridiculous additional charge for buying a ticket from the conductor on the train.

nope no additional fees. In fact the conductors often don't even ask to see the permit.
