NYC Century PART DEUX!: 10/11
Hi everyone,
Due to the positive interest in redo-ing the NYC Century ride in this thread, I am starting the official ride redo thread to get a roll call going on as well as to figure out the date we're gonna go.
Please post here if you want to come with, and what day & date is best. Obviously it's going to be a Saturday or Sunday on one of the coming weekends, but I'd like to get this organized.
Since this is a "just for fun" ride and not affiliated with the actual NYC Century or Trans Alt, it's of course FREE and will not have any ride support. Although we will obviously stop for food, beer, etc. as needed and I'll bring the tools and parts to fix minor breakdowns like flat tires, etc.
...and all participants get a free jersey at the finish line (old white t-shirt with NYC Century PART DEUX written in sharpie marker).

I'm in as long as Nathan's is one of our rest stops
Easy ride - 14-16 mph pace?

hmmm, i will be out of town visiting my Grandma the second week of October. What about Saturday September 27th? the third and fourth weekends in October are both good for me.
To answer Air's questions, yes totally into a Nathan's stop and yes 14-16mph pace sounds good to me.

...i wonder if i should also post this in the single-speed / fixed forum, since a lot of people there are from NYC, and also would most likely be into a more laid-back riding pace.

Let's pick a date first, hard enough with a few people to come to a close consensus. As it will be anyway there will probably be a few people that can't make it.
Maybe we should pick two dates. Anyone want to ride both, cool, rains on the first then the second is a second chance.

I will have to get back to you on dates. I'm pretty full up until at least mid-October.

10-11 is looking pretty good it seems - let's plan on that being the first choice and can add a second date.
Who's in?

Doh! Are your other dates OK? We'll pick another date for those that can't make this one.
