Great rides in these reports!
As a sign setter and bits and pieces sorter, I only rode my 3 speed about 10 minutes of latitude to mark off street portions of yesterday's Hub on Wheels tour of Boston.
Heavy rain failed to dissuade thousands of riders and hundreds of volunteers from casting off from City Hall at 8 AM. They sailed 5 miles up Storrow keeping the Charles on their starboard, gybed and tacked back with the river on portside then fell off to Fenway. The 10ers made port via by Commonwealth and rounded the Commons and close tacked to City Hall.
The 30s cruised Jamaica Pond, Arnold Arboretum, Forest Hills Cemetery and Franklin Park then Codman Square, UMass/JFK, Dorchester Bay and with fine, clearing weather across their starboard, took the Harborwalk along the southern shores of Boston Harbor. The 50s added Stoney Brook, Hyde Park, Mt. Hope and the Neponset River and made port with fair winds.
