NYC Bike Rental/Riding :: CDN Visitor
Hi - My wife and I are heading to NYC and I would like to rent a bike and do some 2-wheel sight seeing. If anyone has recommendations for rental spots or tour guides I am all ears - Thanks.

There is an outfit called Bike and Roll that rents bikes and offers guided tours. They're located near pier 94 on the Hudson River Greenway. Riding the legnth of the Hudson from the Battery to the GWB is a nice scenic ride, as is doing the loop of Central Park. A ride over the Brookln bridge is also nice and scenic.

When are you coming? I have a garage full of bikes and could loan you a pair of very nice bikes. And if you'd like a tourguide, I'd love to show you around, too. I grew up in Manhattan and have ridden throughout it extensively.

Hi, we expect to arrive Thursday mid-day. We have some family business in Flushing and I am hoping to steal some time for bicycle exploration - w/o being run over by a cab or doing something too foolish.

I'm in New Jersey, a 45 minute train ride west of New Jersey. You can take bikes on the train when it's not rush hour.
If this interests you, email me or call me, and I'll pick out a couple of bikes for you.

Assuming you want to rent a road bike and not a mountain bike?
You can also rent a Jamis basic road bike at https://www.libertybikesny.com/
they are right near Central Park...and from there you can hit the Hudson River (as mentioned)...they dont provide tour guides though so other outfits may be better for this

To get to Pedal Pusher from Flushing take the #7 (local or express) to Grand Central. Change for the uptown #6 and take it 3 stops to 68th St (travel time about 45 minutes).
If your Thursday is tomorrow (Nov 12), the weather forecast is for northeast winds 18- 22 mph and a temperature around 50 degrees (F).
Flushing is a desert bicycle-wise despite having a velodrome. The City does publish a bike map that is a suitability map. It lists all the bike shops and those that rent bikes. https://https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/h...bikemaps.shtml.
