Looking to buy a Hybrid bike with internal gear hub please help..... I am lost

Hello all

I hope someone can help... I had a really nice bike i bought last yeah called a GT Transeo GTD with a 8 speed internal gear hub. I loved it.... but of course some one thought that they have to steal it.

So my dilemma now is... I want a hybrid bike with a internal gear hub, more then 3 gears though. I cannot get the GT Transeo anymore....

The only other bike that is a hybrid and has internal gear hub is a Schwimm but it only comes in read and white and I really hate red......

So any one who could help and advise me where to find a Hybrid bike with a internal gear hub... I am 6.5 tall 250pound guy so needs to be decent quality.....

Please help... links to the bike you are thinking of would be great.

Thank you

Soren

The Breezer Uptown is complete and what you're looking for.

Consider a Jamis 3.0 commuter, lots of handlebar/stem adjustability to fit your size.

I really like your second suggestion.... that Bike looks so great... but damm... it is just me but I did not think I would have to spend 1000$ on a bike. My GT Transeo GTD was a great bike for 529$. Is this brand REI so much better?

REI isn't a brand of bike,* it's a store or, more accurately, a retail cooperative that operates a fleet of stores across the country.

_____
* Well, okay, REI does have a "store brand" of bikes, but it's "Novara," not "REI," and the bikes above aren't them.

You could probably find a nice vintage Raleigh 3 speed on Craigslist for $250 or less.

Where are you located? Are you looking to buy it in an IBD or online?
I have a KHS Fleetwood which has the older Nexus 7-sp. with the thumb shifter which I love.
My wife has the Breezer Uptown which is an excellent city bike. (two baby seats on it!)
You can get the Uptown for around $800 new I think:
http://www.breezerbikes.com/index.ph...es/66-uptown-8

If you have a decent bike shop near you, you could buy a single speed bike and have them rebuild the back wheel with the internal hub of your choice, like:
http://www.amazon.com/i-Motion-9-Spe.../dp/B0013HM7QY

You could probably pick this KHS up for around $600:
http://www.khsbicycles.com/06_cidi_8_10.htm

If you're near Jersey City you can pick up one of these haulers at Grove Street Bicycles: (Specialized Globe)
